As of May 4, 2020, we are only processing duplicate registration/plates through our drop boxes. We will no longer process these in office.


If you have already purchased Minnesota Registration Stickers or License Plates and for any reason need them replaced, you will need to apply for duplicates through our drop boxes. Common reasons that Stickers/Plates may need to be replaced are if they are: Lost, Stolen, Destroyed or Not Received.

If you need duplicate plates, you will need to:

  • Fill out the Duplicate Plate Application
  • Put  Duplicate Plate Application in an envelope
  • Please call us at 763-324-2100 for fee amount (check below for common fees)
  • Make a check or money order out for amount given and place in envelope
    • Make it out to Anoka County
    • Include your driver’s license number and phone number on the check
  • Place in a drop box
  • It will be processed in 1-3 days
  • We will mail your plates to you after processing

What Will I Pay?

The fee for Duplicate Registration Stickers is $12.50.

The fee for (standard) Duplicate Plates is $19.00.

The fee for most Duplicate Specialized Plates is $23.50, this price can vary.

There will be no fee if you are applying for Duplicate Stickers/Plates that you have purchased and not received from the State of Minnesota and it has been less than 60 days from when they were issued.
