Statewide Health Improvement Partnership (SHIP)

The Statewide Health Improvement Partnership, or SHIP, is a partnership aimed at “creating healthier communities across Minnesota by expanding opportunities for active living, healthy eating, and tobacco-free living”. SHIP plays an essential role in helping all people in Minnesota prevent chronic diseases, including cancer, heart disease, stroke, and type 2 diabetes. Our work makes the healthy choice the easy choice where we live, work, learn, and play.

SHIP has played an instrumental role in helping to keep Minnesota's obesity rates relatively flat and reduce commercial tobacco use. To accomplish the goals of SHIP, local communities and organizations are needed as partners to promote evidence-based strategies outlined by SHIP.
