We Need You!

Election judges are an essential part of our democracy and are needed now more than ever during the current pandemic. Adequate election judge staffing will ensure that all polling places remain operational on Election Day. We are calling citizens across Anoka County, especially those outside of the high risk populations, to rise to the occasion to meet this critical need.

Serving as an election judge is an excellent way to get involved within your community. You will learn election procedures, and ensure that elections are administered in a fair manner. Precautions for Election Judges during Pandemic

In coordination with the Office of the Secretary of State, Anoka County and its municipalities are taking precautions to ensure that election judges are safe when performing their duties. All election judges be will provided with masks and sanitizing supplies to maintain a hygienic work environment. Election judge training will be delivered in an online format to avoid congregating in a large group setting. In addition to covering election judge roles and responsibilities, training will also address specific recommendations and guidance for working during the pandemic.

Anoka County is hiring judges to work on the Absentee Ballot Board to help with the opening of absentee ballot envelopes beginning 14 days prior to Election Day

  • Primary election: Wednesday, July 29 - Tuesday, August 11
  • General election: Wednesday, October 20 - Tuesday, November 3
  • Judges that can work any or all days are encouraged to apply. Training will be provided.
  • Complete the application and submit via email to elections@co.anoka.mn.us
