Anoka County Parks would like to engage current park users and residents that are unfamiliar with the park system to assist in future planning efforts. In collaboration with the Metropolitan Council, Anoka County Parks will be engaging the community through various outreach efforts to ensure that park amenities reflect the changing community needs. Projects that are open for public feedback will be listed on this page as they become available.

Coon Creek Regional Trail Master Plan Amendment
The Coon Creek Regional Trail is a seven mile paved trail that connects Bunker Hills Regional Park and Coon Rapids Dam Regional Park. The County received a request from the City of Coon Rapids to amend the Coon Creek Regional Trail Master Plan to include a pedestrian bridge over Coon Rapids Boulevard between Avocet Street and Egret Boulevard. Concept plans for the pedestrian bridge were developed by the City of Coon Rapids to increase safety for trail uses and drivers. The County is currently seeking public input on the proposed changes.
Rice Creek North Regional Trail
Rice Creek North Regional Trail is a 10-foot wide, eight (8) mile long paved trail that follows Rice Creek through the south-east quadrant of the county. It provides a connection between Anoka and Ramsey counties and connects the Cities of Blaine, Circle Pines, and Lino Lakes. The trail also connects to the East Anoka County Regional Trail, Bunker Chain of Lakes Regional Trail, and the Rice Creek Regional Trail system in Ramsey County. Anoka County is updating the master plan for the trail and is seeking public input regarding options to complete the trail between Golden Lake Elementary and Baldwin Park in the City of Circle Pines. Concepts have been developed. Please provide any input or feedback regarding the options.
Rum River Regional Trail Master Plan Amendment
The Rum River Regional Trail is a planned 20-mile long paved trail that traverses the County north to south roughly following the Rum River. The Parks Department is in the planning process to amend the Rum River Regional Trail Master Plan to include a trail underpass at Bridge Street (CSAH 24) to increase safety for trail users and drivers; and a realignment of the trail between Rum River North County Park and the Anoka/Isanti County line to provide a scenic route.
