Roadwork Projects Done by Other Agencies

City of Coon Rapids

Coon Rapids Boulevard / BNSF Railroad Tracks / East River Road

Reconstruction work currently taking place on Coon Rapids Boulevard includes rehabilitation of the existing Coon Rapids Boulevard approach panels and bridges over the BNSF Railroad tracks and northbound East River Road.  In order for the Contractor to safely perform several rehabilitation measures required on the CRB bridge over northbound East River Road, this latter roadway needs to be temporarily closed to all traffic.  The planned closure dates for northbound East River Road are set for late July 10 (Friday) to early July 13 (Monday).  Signs will be posted this week notifying of the planned closure.  A detour for northbound East River Road traffic will take place via Foley Boulevard.  Coon Rapids Boulevard will remain open in both directions to traffic during the work.

MnDOT Traffic & Road Conditions Information
Use caution and drive safely. If possible, use alternate routes. Remember, as you travel through a work zone reduce your speed, adjust your lane position away from workers, and prepare for the unexpected. Allow extra time for your trip or, if possible, use an alternate route. Projects may cause some inconvenience, but the benefits will be a safer and more efficient roadway system. Watch for road signs and articles in local newspapers to keep you informed. Your patience and cooperation is sincerely appreciated.

Updated start date: Northbound I-35W traffic change between Lake Drive and Sunset Avenue in Blaine to begin on June 30

Crews are ahead of schedule and will be shifting traffic on northbound I-35W between Lake Dr. and Sunset Ave. in Blaine a few days earlier than expected.

Weather permitting, beginning Tuesday, June 30, motorists will encounter the new traffic change. As drivers on northbound I-35W approach Lake Dr., they will need to decide between two lanes: a lane to exit local roads and a through lane.

  • Drivers who want to exit to the local roads of 95th Ave. or Lexington Ave. will need to remain in the right lane.
  • Drivers who are traveling further north can use the left lane, which will not have access to local roads. This through lane will be separated by concrete barriers until the end of the construction work zone at Sunset Ave.

This traffic configuration will remain in place through August.

Rosegate closes July 6 through November 2020

While crews continue to work on the I-35W bridge over Rosegate in Roseville, they need to fully close Rosegate to complete the work.

Beginning 5 a.m. Monday, July 6, Rosegate under I-35W will be closed and drivers should follow the posted detour by using Cleveland Ave., Co. Rd. B2 and Long Lake Rd.

Rosegate is expected to remain closed until November 2020.
