What is Property Alert?
Property Alert is a free notification service that alerts property owners when a document is recorded against a property.
What is property fraud?
Property fraud is very rare but growing white-collar crime where thieves record fraudulent documents against a property in an effort to establish ownership for financial gain (making it look like they own the property).
How can I protect myself?
Be vigilant and enroll in our free Property Alert service.
How does Property Alert work?
Once enrolled, Property Alert sends an automated email alert any time a document is recorded in our office using the specified parcel number(s). You can then decide if the recording is legitimate or fraudulent and take the necessary actions.
Additionally, if you have a paid subscription to our recorded document access Subscription Service, you will have the ability to view indexed information such as Recorded Document Number, Recording Date, and Grantor/Grantee for the recorded document. You can also view an image of the actual document. If you do not subscribe to our Subscription Service, recorded documents can be viewed free of charge in the Public Research Area in Room 119 at the Anoka County Government Center.
Again, Property Alert is offered at no charge.
