The Justice Services Division is a diverse unit responsible for many law enforcement services including:
- Civil process
- Courthouse security
- Prisoner transport
- Records and data entry
Civil Unit
The Civil Unit is responsible for providing timely service of legal court documents such as:
- Domestic Abuse Orders for Protection
- Harassment Restraining Orders
- Orders for Seizure
- Mental Health Commitment Orders

Court Security Unit
The Court Security Unit is responsible for maintaining order and security in the courthouse. The supervisors responsible for the Court Security Unit are Sergeant Tony Nelson and Sergeant Christina Brynteson, 763-324-5075.
Prisoner Transport Unit
The Prisoner Transport Unit provides services as directed by court orders, warrants, extraditions, medical appointments, and civil commitments. The Prisoner Transport Unit transports prisoners to court and medical facilities and travels to prisons and jails around the state on warrant pick-ups, writs, etc. The Prisoner Transport Unit is also responsible for extradition of prisoners throughout the United States.
The supervisor responsible for the Prisoner Transport Unit is Sergeant Tony Nelson, 763-324-5075.
Records Unit
The Records Unit is responsible for the collection and production of all documents created during the course of criminal investigations. The Records Unit also has responsibility for entering and tracking lost and stolen property through a state and national database known as the CJIS system. Items entered into this system include:
- Vehicles
- Boats
- Guns
- Missing persons
- Runaway juveniles
