ACTION ITEMS – All of the following items were approved unanimously
Resolution of Support Approved for Road Projects
The board approved a resolution of support for various road and bridge projects in Anoka County for the 2020 legislative session. These projects include a “add-a-lane” project on U.S. Highway 10 from Armstrong Boulevard to Hanson Boulevard, a railroad grade separation on Highway 47 in Anoka, a grade separation on Highway 65 at 109th Avenue in Blaine, and a full-access interchange at East River Road in Coon Rapids. Bids for Road Projects Rejected
The board rejected all bids for pavement micro-surfacing of Main Street, Round Lake Boulevard and Bunker Lake Boulevard in the cities of Coon Rapids and Andover. The work is now set to be re-scoped, and the county will advertise for new bids. Anoka County Engineer Doug Fischer said the county only received one bid for these projects, and it was substantially higher than the county’s estimate. Fischer further explained that micro-surfacing is a 3/8-inch surface treatment for roads, and the county could wait until next year to have these projects completed, as these roads will still be safe to drive on for some time without this pavement preservation measure. County to be Reimbursed for MNLARS
