Adoption Day Event Nov. 23

The board passed a resolution recognizing November as Adoption Awareness month and reminded the public that from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Nov. 23 Anoka County’s Adoption Day Event will be held at the Anoka County Government Center and Courthouse, 2100, 3rd Ave., Anoka. Construction Projects Approved

The board approved a resolution authorizing Anoka County to enter into a local road improvement program with the Minnesota Department of Transportation for the reconstruction of Hornsby Street near Highway 97 and I-35 in the City of Columbus.

The board also approved a purchase of service contract with HDR Engineering for preliminary and final design services for the reconstruction of 7th Avenue between North Road and Bunker Lake Boulevard. This project will include channelization, medians and turn lanes. This project is planned before the scheduled U.S. Highway 10 improvement project that will take place in 2022, so traffic diverted from Highway 10 into Anoka will be able to move through the area more efficiently.
