Employees Recognized with Awards of Excellence
The board commended several Anoka County employees who had gone above and beyond in their job duties to support their coworkers and to ensure the public is being served in the most thorough manner possible during the annual Awards of Excellence presentation. Employees recognized were: Tami Allen, Paul Talbot, Kelli Hill, Andrea Struzyk, Tom Rogers, Angie Chalmers, Charlie Teff, Anders Oredson and Joseph Gerard. To watch the presentation, click HERE.
Two Transportation Projects Approved
The board approved a joint powers agreement with the City of Blaine for the installation of a traffic control signal system at the intersection of Radisson Road NE and Xylite Street NE and near-side signal heads and flashing yellow arrow improvements at the existing traffic control signal system at the intersection of Radisson Road NE and 101st Avenue in Blaine. The board also awarded a contract to Park Construction Company for the reconstruction of Osborne Road between Highways 47 and 65 in the cities of Fridley and Spring Lake Park. Grant Funding for Emergency Shelter Services Accepted
The board approved the application and acceptance of an Emergency Solutions Grant from the Minnesota Department of Human Services in an amount of up to $800,000. This funding will be used to provide emergency shelter services and/or outreach to unsheltered individuals and families experiencing homelessness. For more information on this item, click HERE.
Voting Equipment Grant Accepted
The board approved the acceptance of a State of Minnesota Voting Equipment Grant of more than $187,000 to be used for the purchase of assistive voting devices. The county is required to match the grant amount. For more information on this item, click HERE.

Employee Health Insurance Approved
