The board recognized local business Jam Hops Gymnastics Factory for winning the Dream Big Small Business of the Year Award, which was presented to the business at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Big Week for Small Business virtual summit in early October. Local Man Recognized for Service to Homeless
The board recognized Fridley’s Bill Jechorek for his service to the homeless over the past 20 years. During that time, Jechorek has organized sock drives that have resulted in more than 100,000 pairs of socks being distributed to the homeless. To watch the presentation on this item, click HERE.
Bridge Work to Commence in Coon Rapids, Oak Grove
The board approved an agreement with HDR, Inc. for consultant design services for the rehabilitation/replacement of the bridge on Coon Creek Boulevard, over Coon Creek, in the City of Coon Rapids. Agreement Reached with MnDOT for Reconstruction of Foley Boulevard

The board entered into a grant contract with the UCARE Foundation for one-time housing related assistance funding. Board Approves Purchase of Tech for Telephone Service
The board approved a purchase from Onvoy LLC for Session Initiation Protocol telelphony services. This technology has several advantages, one of which is the ability to ramp up phone service, when needed, and bring it back down, when needed, so there’s less instance of phone lines being jammed and service not being available because of a high volume of calls. New Library Director Appointed
The board appointed Colleen Haubner as the new Anoka County Library director. Haubner has served in various capacities for the YMCA, most recently as the executive director of the YMCA of the Greater Twin Cities – New Hope.
