Dick Lang, Former Board Member, Passes Away

Anoka County Sheriff James Stuart to Retire
Commissioner Julie Braastad, chair of the county’s public safety committee, noted during the meeting Anoka County Sheriff James Stuart will retire in 2022. 125th Avenue in Blaine to be Reconstructed
The board approved a resolution authorizing the county engineer to acquire two out lots near White Pine Senior Living so 125th Avenue, between Harpers Street NE and Lexington Avenue NE, can be reconstructed. This project is slated for the 2022 construction season. Proposed improvements include expanding Lexington Avenue from 2 lanes to a divided 4-lane urban roadway with concrete gutter, pedestrian facilities, drainage enhancements and ADA improvements. Also proposed is the installation of a new traffic control signal system at the intersection of Legacy Creek Parkway NE. For more information on this item, click HERE.
Several Contracts Renewed in Human Services
The board approved the renewal of various contracts, including one with the Anoka County Community Action Program for childcare assistance case management, another with the Lee Carlson Center for Mental Health for sliding-fee outpatient mental health services, and other with the Anoka County Attorney’s Office for ongoing fraud investigation and prevention services. Contract Extended for COVID-19 Vaccine Administration
The board accepted a contract extension with Recover Health for COVID-19 vaccine administration until Dec. 31, 2022. Recover Health has partnered with Anoka County to provide clinics at community sites for individuals who live or work in Anoka County. For more information on this item, click HERE.
