Anoka County Human Services Manager Wins Outstanding Service Award
Cindy Cesare, Anoka County Human Services Division manager, recently won a 2021 Association of Minnesota Counties’ (AMC) Outstanding Service Award for exhibiting excellence, innovation and dedication to her work in county government. Cesare, who has been with Anoka County for 30 years, was recognized by AMC for her leadership, continued drive for excellence and her dedication to the mission of serving residents in a respectful, innovative, and fiscally responsible manner. Career Ladder Updates Approved
The board approved career ladder updates for Transportation, Property Records and Taxation, Human Services, License and Passport Services, Human Services and Parks. Settlement Authorized in Opioid Litigation
The board approved its part of a settlement agreement between Minnesota, several other states, and various pharmaceutical distributors, regarding the distribution of prescription opioids that have in part led to the opioid crisis. Safe Routes to School Funding Sought for Northdale Boulevard
The board adopted a resolution supporting submittal of a Minnesota Safe Routes to School funding application for Northdale Boulevard, to improve pedestrian safety in the vicinity of Coon Rapids Middle School and High School campuses. Bridge Priority List Amended
The board adopted a resolution amending Anoka County’s bridge priority list. Based upon recent inspections, there are five bridges in the county that have a local bridge planning index of less than 70 and should be replaced. For more information on this item, click HERE. Aquatic Invasive Species Program Approved
The board approved the 2022 Aquatic Invasive Species Program. Next year, Anoka County will receive $134,000 in state funding to be used to help mitigate the spread of aquatic invasive species in county waterways. For more information on this item, click HERE.
Purchase of Storage Area Network Approved

Donations Accepted for Sheriff’s Office
The board accepted two donations to the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office”
- $20,000 from the Coss Family Foundation for the Sheriff’s Office K-9 program.
- $2,500 from Janet and Daniel Feeney to support the K-9 program.
