Employees Recognized for Years of Service

September is Workforce Development Month
The board proclaimed September Workforce Development Month in Anoka County and invited Nicole Swanson, director of the Anoka County Job Training Center, to the meeting to talk about the importance of workforce development in the area. To watch the presentation, click HERE.
Legacy Funding to Pay for Three Parks Projects
The board approved Parks and Trails Legacy Funding agreements for three projects in the Anoka County Parks System:
- Culvert replacement and trail construction at Coon Rapids Dam Regional Park.
- Entrance road, boat launch and beach improvements at Rice Creek Chain of Lakes Park Reserve.
- Wargo Nature Center Improvements.
Due to these projects being paid for by Legacy dollars, Anoka County does not have to allocate its own funding to the projects. For more information on this item, click HERE. To watch the video, click HERE.
County Receives Minnesota Recreation and Park Association Award
During the Parks Committee report, Commissioner Mike Gamache mentioned the county received a Minnesota Recreation and Park Association award for the Bunker Beach Water Park facility renovation project. To watch the presentation, click HERE.
Donation Accepted from Holistic Veterinary Care
The board accepted the donation of an AKC Reunite microchip scanner, valued at $900, to assist in reuniting missing canines with their owners. For more information on this item, click HERE.
Donation Accepted for Anoka County Fair
The board accepted a $4,400 donation from the Anoka County Agricultural Society to be used towards the cost of security at the Anoka County Fair, provided by the Anoka County Sheriff Reserve Unit. For more information on this item, click HERE.
