Economic Development Director Gives Report
Anoka County’s new Economic Development Director, Gregory Fraham-Gilles, gave a presentation to the board about the Anoka County Regional Economic Development partnership, which is a collaboration between Anoka County, the MetroNorth Chamber, Connexus Energy and the county’s 21 cities. Trash Bag Donation Accepted for Adopt-a-Highway Program
The board accepted a donation of 6,000 trash bags from Connexus Energy with an approximate value of $5,000, for use in the Anoka County Highway Department’s Adopt-a-Highway program. Anoka County currently has 170 segments of Adopt-a-Highway roads. When groups clean a segment, they typically use about 50 bags. For more information on this item, click HERE.
Road Improvements Planned in Columbus
The board approved a local road improvement program agreement for construction administration services related to the realignment of West Freeway Drive in the City of Columbus, and two LRIP agreements were approved related to the realignment of Hornsby Street in the city. Budget Allocations Amended for ARPA funds
On Aug. 24, 2021, the board approved a resolution which adopted a budget for funds received through the American Rescue Plan Act. Since that time, the budget has been amended several times. The most recent amendments approved by the board are in the areas of public health and safety payroll, COVID-19 vaccination planning and implementation, protective equipment and measures, medical expenses, and modifications to ensure safe services delivery.
