Cannabis Free Policy Adopted for Anoka County Property
During the 2023 session, the Minnesota Legislature approved a bill legalizing adult-use cannabis, which becomes effective Aug. 1. In response to this new legislation, the board adopted a policy that bans cannabis use for employees and the public at all Anoka County property. Agreement Approved with MnDOT for Sunfish Lake, Ramsey Boulevards
The board adopted a resolution authorizing the county to enter into a Local Road Improvement Program agreement with the Minnesota Department of Transportation for the environmental analysis, preliminary engineering, and final design of Ramsey Boulevard and Sunfish Lake Boulevard on U.S. Highway 10/169 in the City of Ramsey. Bridge in Oak Grove to be Replaced

Improvements Planned along Viking, Rum River Boulevards
The board approved entering into a joint powers agreement with the City of Oak Grove for intersections improvements on Viking Boulevard and Rum River Boulevard. Over the past several years, this intersection has experienced increased safety and mobility concerns. A roundabout was determined to be the preferred improvement. Intersection Improvements Planned at Coon Raids, Mississippi Boulevards
The board awarded a contract to Forest Lake Contracting for intersection improvements on Coon Rapids Boulevard, at Mississippi Boulevard, in the City of Coon Rapids. Street Outreach Services Purchased
The county’s Community Social Services and Behavioral Health department has been awarded $930,000 in Emergency Services Program funds through June 30, 2025, to contract for homeless street outreach services. Contract Approved to Alleviate 911 Dispatcher Hours
Due to a large amount of overtime for Anoka County 911 staff, the board approved a contract with Moetivations for a 3-month term to hire on-demand temporary dispatchers. Legacy Christian Academy to Contract with Sheriff’s Office
Legacy Christian Academy in Andover requested school resource services from the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office and agreed to pay the sum of $111,550 for these services from Aug. 1, 2023 to May 31, 2024. The board approved the contract, which will allow the Sheriff’s Office to have a school resource officer in the school’s building during regular school hours.
