Donation Accepted to Anoka County Attorney’s Office
The Anoka County Children and Family Council donated $4,742.56 to the Anoka County Attorney’s Office, in sponsorship of a weeklong mock trial camp put on through Anoka County Justice Partners, which includes representatives from the Attorney’s Office, local judges, defense attorneys, court administration, law enforcement, court reporters, law clerks and victim witness coordinators. Bridge to be Replaced on Ambassador Blvd. in St. Francis
The board adopted a resolution authorizing the acquisition of right of way for the replacement of a bridge on Ambassador Boulevard NW, over Seelye Brook, in the City of St. Francis. This bridge was damaged recently due to an auto accident and the planned improvements to this bridge include replacing the timber components with a new precast concrete box culvert. Compact Roundabout Planned for Mississippi St., Central Ave. in Fridley
The board adopted a resolution authorizing the preparation of a highway right-of-way plat for improvements at the intersection of Mississippi Street NE and Central Avenue in the City of Fridley. Improvements planned at Mississippi Blvd., Coon Rapids Blvd. in Coon Rapids
The board entered into a joint powers agreement with the City of Coon Rapids for intersection improvements on Coon Rapids Boulevard at Mississippi Boulevard, in the City of Coon Rapids. These improvements will include updating pedestrian accommodations to current ADA standards, addition of flashing yellow arrow capability, reconstruction of the existing traffic signal, and the construction of an additional turn lane on Mississippi Boulevard as well as a mill and overlay of Highway 1 through the intersection. Parks Funding Agreements Approved
The board approved funding agreements with the Metropolitan Council for various projects within the county’s parks system:
• $1,873,454 for Bunker Hills Regional Park improvements.
• $450,000 for Mississippi Reiver Regional Trail improvements through Rivenwick Development near Mississippi West Regional Park.
• $75,000 for regional systemwide natural resource management.
• $2 million for Coon Rapids Dam Regional Park –– pedestrian bridge replacement and trail improvements.
• $707,707 for Rice Creek West Regional Train/Manomin Park Improvements –– Banfill Locke House reconstruction.
• $1,466,276 for Bunker Hills Regional Park –– pavilion replacement.

Public Hearing Postponed on Cannabis Prohibition on County-Owned Properties
Due to a deficiency of notice, the scheduled public hearing to obtain comments concerning a proposed Anoka County ordinance prohibiting the use of cannabis on county-owned properties was postponed until the board’s next regular meeting Aug. 22.
