About Mississippi Library
The Mississippi Library, which opened in 1975 in Fridley, is an 11,007 square foot stucco building featuring an outdoor courtyard. In addition to popular reading materials and information for all ages, the library offers research assistance, storytimes, programs, classes, and meeting rooms. The Smart Play Spot, designed by the Minnesota Children’s Museum, and library books and materials build early literacy skills through play in English, Spanish, and Arabic. Wi-Fi, wireless printing, and public computers provide access to the wealth of library resources.

Library Lockers
The Mississippi Library has lockers where patrons can pick up their holds with a simple scan of their library card. Their items are already checked out and ready to go.

Meeting Room
The meeting room at the Mississippi Library can hold 60 people and may be divided into two separate rooms to seat 30 people on each side. The room has 7 tables, 60 chairs, wireless Internet access, whiteboards, and a kitchenette. A mounted 65-inch monitor is available for use in the half of the room designated Meeting Room 2.

Study Rooms
The Mississippi Library has two small study rooms available. One can be booked ahead of time, while the other is available on a first-come, first-serve basis. The rooms can hold 1-4 people.

Designed by the Minnesota Children’s Museum, the Smart Play Spot sparks young imaginations with features that inspire fun, including a Farmer's Market, a Puzzle Crate, and a Magnet Wall.
