Support Groups

Social workers, foster parent trainers, and health care professionals are also available as resources to help both foster parents and children adapt and flourish. In addition, Anoka County has a number of support groups who have meetings where foster providers can talk with others who are also caring for foster children.

Morning Support Group


Day: Second Tuesday of each month
Time: 10:00am - 11:30am
Location: Currently this meeting is taking place virtually. If you are an Anoka County Foster Care provider please contact Lisa Coleman to request an invitation. Lisa.Coleman@co.anoka.mn.us. You will need to provide your full name and the name of your foster care licensing social worker. 

This meeting is facilitated by Lisa Coleman and Rachele Green (on maternity leave)

Evening Support Group

Time: 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm
