Anoka County Earth Day

2021 Logo

Did you know on Thursday, April 22 it will be the 51th Earth Day Celebration? That’s right, the first Earth Day was in 1970!

Although we have to practice social distancing, we’d like to still celebrate Earth Day in Anoka County and recognize members of our community!

There are many ways to celebrate but we’d like to focus on walking and biking on Thursday, April 22. Did you know that both walking and biking help improve the environment? Here’s how!

  • Biking and walking doesn’t pollute the air  - no need to fill up on gas when your biking or walking!
  • Biking and walking doesn’t create carbon dioxide
  • Biking and walking reduces traffic congestion
  • Biking and walking takes up less space and fewer roadways

Take the pledge to bike or walk next Thursday, April 22 and you’ll receive a free Earth Day goodie bag with many sustainable items.
