Real Life Impact

Tax volunteers were able to assist a client in filing her refundable rent credit for approximately $800 to which she happily replied, “Maybe I won’t have to have as many garage sales to help support myself now that this refund is coming!”

The volunteer tax program team assisted an active military member in completing two years of property taxes and referred him for a resource in filing 2022 and 2021 taxes as he was away on active duty. Additionally, the volunteer team found another utility resource for active military members. He was thrilled to receive multiple refunds which his family will use to pay towards upcoming property taxes and basic needs upon his next deployment.
