Property Tax Payment Options

To find out how much  you owe in property taxes, go to find property information and search by Property Identification Number (PIN) or your property address. This link PayAnokaCounty will bring you to the site to pay your taxes.

For the Parcel Identification Number (PIN) search, you can obtain your PIN from your tax statement, other notices, or on this site at find property information.

For the property address search, enter your partial or full house number (examples: 12 or 1234) and the first three characters of your street name (example: 4th; not 4th Street or 4th Ave); if the street address is showing unassigned in our tax system, you will need to search by Parcel Identification Number (PIN); found on your tax statement.

You have many different options for paying your property tax.

Pay Online

You can pay your taxes from your bank account, debit card, credit card (Mastercard, Visa, Discover, or American Express), Apple Pay, or Google Pay online at: PayAnokaCounty. There is a 2.6% processing fee for credit/ debit card, Apple Pay and Google Pay payments and a $3.50 processing fee for ACH/eCheck payments. These fees are separate from your property tax amount, and Anoka County does not receive any portion of the fee.

There are two options, you may create an account or pay as a guest. For both options you may search by your PIN (found on your property tax statement) or property address (number and first 3 characters of the street) to find your parcel for payment. It is recommended to create an account, as your PIN and payment are then linked to your account.

Creating an account allows you to log in at any time to view your payment history, manage linked properties, and schedule future payments. Please note that all scheduled property tax payments must be received on or before the bill’s due date to avoid penalties. View the instructions to schedule a future payment.

If you choose to pay as a guest, you’ll need to search for the property and re‑enter your payment information each time you submit a payment.

  1. Why does Anoka County charge a fee for echeck and debit/credit card transactions?

The fee for online payments is charged by the service provider utilized to process e-check, debit/credit card, Apple Pay and Google Pay transactions. Anoka County does not charge the fee or receive any portion of the fee collected for using this method of paying your property tax.

  2. I do not have to pay a fee when I use my debit/credit card for other payments, goods and services. Why do I have to pay a fee to pay my property tax?

There is always a fee charged by the credit card company - for the "loaning" of the money for 30 days. In private industry, the merchant pays the fee but can recover the cost by increasing the price of their products or services. Minnesota Statute allows counties to accept debit/credit cards for payment of real-estate taxes but specifies that any fees charged by the credit card company must be passed on to the taxpayer and not paid by the county.

  3. If Anoka County doesn't receive the fee amounts, who does?

Anoka County does not charge the fee or receive any portion of the fee collected for using this method of paying your property tax. The county only receives the property tax payment amount. The $3.50 e-check fee and 2.6% debit/credit card, Apple Pay and Google Pay fee are retained by the service provider(s) as the cost for providing the service and convenience of using this method for payment of property tax.

  4. Are there any other payment options I can use that don't charge a fee?

Yes.  We do offer payment alternatives that do not include a service fee.  These options include check payment by mail, in-person payment via cash or check at our Public Service Counter in the Anoka County Government Center.  There is also a Direct Payment Program enrollment (requires pre-registration).  For more information about the Direct Payment Program, please call 763-323-5400.

  5. Which debit/credit cards are accepted?

Mastercard, Visa, Discover and American Express.  Apple Pay and Google Pay are also accepted.
